How to Activate Google Now in Android Nougat

 

Google Now is an intelligent voice assistant for the search giant. It lets you perform almost any task on smartphone and computer using voice commands. It can be used to control your device, call a specific person, create reminders, check email/weather/maps/news and many more.

Hold on the Home button on your Android device, to activate Google Now.

Choose ‘Yes, I’m In’ option from the small pop-up menu. You can turn on the feature from the device settings as well.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Swipe down until you see ‘Google’ menu
  3. Select Search & Now option
  4. Tap on Voice
  5. Choose OK Google detection
  6. Turn on Always on option
  7. After completing the following steps, click on ‘Yes, I’m In’ button to turn on trusted voice.

That’s all. Now you are able to perform various smartphone-related tasks followed by ‘OK Google’ voice command.

How to turn off Google Now in Android Nougat

If you are not interested to use Google’s voice assistant anymore, follow the below mentioned steps.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Find Google menu, from there choose Search & Now option
  3. Click on Voice
  4. Go to OK Google detection
  5. Turn off Always on option
  6. Disable ‘From the Google app’ to turn off voice search too.
